NTU follows Taiwan’s Gender Equality Education Act which states that “Educational institutions conducting recruitment or giving approvals for admission are not permitted to treat any prospective student differently on the basis of their gender, gender traits, gender identity, or sexual orientation”(Link1: Article 13). Meanwhile, Article 1 of the National Taiwan University Recruitment Committee Establishment Guidelines (Evidence 2) stated that NTU follows Article 24 of the University Act (Link 3), “each university shall handle student recruitment in accordance with the principles of fairness, impartiality, and openness, independently or jointly with one or more other universities.”. The pieces of evidence above show that NTU does not discriminate when accepting new students based on their gender.
